50 Overrated Vacation Destinations

Hollywood Walk of Fame

Accepted nominees can get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles for around $30,000. Is it still an honour if you have to pay $30,000 for the opportunity? In any case, tourists are swarming the sidewalk, hoping to spot superstars. Celebrities don’t hang out here, to be sure. Even Jimmy Kimmel believes the popular tourist attraction is overrated, claiming that it is “the only spot in the world where you can stare at celebrities’ names…on the ground!” When you go there, that’s all you’ll see. There are so many names that you won’t notice them as you tread on them — they’ll just blend in with the rest of the tiles.

The Washington Monument

The 70-second elevator ride to the top of this monument isn’t worth the fee unless you truly want to recreate the famous scene from Forrest Gump or learn more about America’s first president. There’s no reason to go out of your way to view the least intriguing monument because being inside it isn’t as exciting as it may sound, and you can see it from multiple vantage points. Walking the Capitol Mall from the Capitol Building directly through the Washington Monument, the World War II Monument, and the Lincoln Memorial would be a better experience. That way, you may see the best of Washington, D.C. without spending a dollar! In the neighbourhood, there’s also the Jefferson Memorial and a little FDR memorial. You can also pay your respects at the Vietnam Memorial Wall.

Every Cruise Ever

Nobody likes crowds, so why would anyone want to go on a cruise when they’ll be surrounded by strangers? The only real way out is to lock yourself in your room, which is sort of a drag. Furthermore, cruises are not inexpensive, particularly “all-inclusive” cruises. The only chance is that you’ll receive some decent food, which is highly unlikely. Last but not least, what’s the most depressing aspect of a cruise? If you choose this type of cruise, you won’t receive the complete experience of visiting another nation. Most just stop for a few seconds, giving you only enough time to see the most touristy and pricey sights. The greatest option is to simply travel wherever you want without paying for a “package.”
