The Blarney Stone
According to legend, kissing the Blarney Stone will grant you “the gift of gab.” Given how many tourists have congregated around this dumb rock throughout the years, you’re more likely to contract giardia (a little parasite also called beaver fever). The Blarney Stone has been dubbed the “most overrated tourist attraction in Europe” by IrishCentral. People from all over the world have travelled great distances to visit this run-down tourist attraction for decades. There’s a far better Irish ritual that’s far more gratifying, and that’s going to the bar for a pint. It’s all about community in Ireland.
Niagara Falls
For the most part, Niagara Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the planet. It’s a collection of three waterfalls that span the Canadian and New York borders. It’s on the Niagara River and would be a spectacular sight if it weren’t for the rest of the city. There are a lot of people, just like many of the other vacations on this list. That isn’t new information, but what else is wrong? The fact that there are nearby buildings, many of which are deteriorated or abandoned, is also a factor. These constructions detract from the natural splendour of the falls, which are the true core of the place. The city of Niagara Falls is a huge disappointment in and of itself.
Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market
Despite the fact that it has been open since 1742, this Boston market has nothing noteworthy to offer. Souvenirs, food vendors, bars, and tourists abound. The majority of locals want to avoid it at all costs. Fortunately, Boston offers a variety of other attractions. You shouldn’t go to Boston for this, but you should see the city’s many historic landmarks. Other activities in Boston include walking the Freedom Trail or taking a tour of one of the ships where the Boston Tea Party took place. Boston is home to the notorious Boston Massacre, many historical figures’ tombs, and the United States’ first bookstore, which is now sadly a Chipotle.
