30 Awful Christmas Decor Trends

Brown Christmas Decorations

Whoever stated brown was a great hue to use for Christmas decorations was lying. Who in their right thinking would consider brown to be attractive? In very rare cases, it can be attractive. But what about Christmas? Certainly not. Brown is a dark colour that resembles mud…or worse. It’s alright to use a little brown, but all brown isn’t a beautiful look. Wouldn’t it be nice to have some colour in there? After all, it is the holiday season. It never hurts to be a little red! Aside from brown, there are a plethora of other seasonally appropriate colours. It’s absolutely acceptable if you’re only interested in neutrals (we’re looking at you, beige fans). Whites, creams, gold, and even silver are all good choices.

Scraggly Christmas Trees

People began to replace their large, full Christmas trees with little, scraggly ones that could barely carry five decorations without snapping a branch about 2016. This cheesy fad will be blamed on Joanna Gaines and Magnolia. It’s endearing the first time you see it, but like most things on her programme, it’s become overused. Minimalism is lovely, but we don’t always want our spaces to be sparse and drab. One of those times is Christmas. We’re not pushing minimalists to go all out, but a slim full tree is a start. That way, it won’t be overwhelming, but you won’t end up with a sad-looking Christmas tree.

Palm Tree Christmas Trees

Obviously, not everyone in the world will be able to enjoy traditional Christmas trees due to the environment. However, it’s hilarious to see people dress up palm trees like Christmas trees. It’s even more exciting when they bring along a beach bunny Santa Clause! In Montana, a palm tree Christmas tree is similar to a beach-themed bathroom. It’s simply inexcusable! Christmas trees need to be nothing more than Christmas trees. The best part is that you don’t need an actual tree to have a good time! You can simply purchase a phoney one like everyone else. The palm tree Christmas trees are amusing in a sarcastic sense, but irony is never a smart choice for house design.
