Animatronic Santas
Around the holidays, these obnoxious little figures emerge from whatever trashbag they’ve been hiding in for the previous year to sing and dance their little dances. They start to look odd after a while…and they start to sound odd as well. We have no idea where these guys came from, but they’ve always been there! So, if Santa is beginning to show signs of wear, toss him away! It may seem a little cruel to toss Santa out so close to the holidays, but what good is he rotting in some dark attic? Besides, as soon as that artificial hair started to turn yellow, he was definitely cramping your style during the holidays.
Menorahs When You’re Not Jewish
Nothing is more unsettling than cultural appropriation. Even if you’re not Jewish, it’s become fashionable to have a menorah in your home at some point. This is simply not acceptable…do not bring a menorah to your Christmas party if you have not yet converted to Judaism. Why would you want to steal someone else’s culture when there are so many different holiday traditions and decorations to discover? There is no cause or circumstance in which this is suitable, therefore don’t do it. Watch a documentary or something if you’re interested in other people’s cultures.
