Meet the Wives and Girlfriends of the Top 33 Golfers
5. Webb Simpson & Taylor Dowd Simpson
Webb Simpson, an American golfer, is a regular on the PGA Tour. He first made a name for himself as an amateur in 2007, competing for Wake Forest University in the Walker Cup and Palmer Cup. He won the 2012 U.S. Open and the 2018 Players Championship as a professional, in addition to multiple victories as a member of the United States national team at the 2011, 2013, and 2019 Presidents Cups.
Taylor Dowd went to Wake Forest with Webb, where she studied communications and theatre in order to pursue a career as an actress. Webb’s father offered Taylor $100 to go on a date with his son at the university. Despite declining the money, she agreed to go on a date with Webb if he was as attractive as his father. In 2004, they went on their first date, and the rest is history. On their first outing, legend has it, they spent $100 on steak. The couple married on January 2, 2010, in North Carolina, after a few hiccups in the path. They now have a total of five children.
